What is New Public Management?

New Public Management is the series of the modern reforms like efficiency, performance and economy in public service from 1980 onwards. It was a reaction against inefficient traditional public administration. It is also known as managerialism.

It was introduced in developed states and gradually it moved towards some developing states. Till now, in Pakistan, it has never been fully optimized. Somehow, it is hoped that very soon, it would become the need of the time to use it.
